Transmission Line Studies
With the growing national interest and need for alternative energy sources and electric power, in general, new transmission lines are being planned to link wind and solar sources with power grid systems and ultimately consumers. Like other tall structures, transmission line towers and catenaries often require compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations and FAA approvals. Using similar resources and methods as described in our Aviation Constraints Studies we can assess proposed transmission line routes and corridors and identify which, if any, towers and catenaries require notice to the FAA and which may require marking and lighting. Also, we assist power companies in filing with the FAA and navigating through the regulatory review to its conclusion in Determinations of No Hazard.
